SIZE
The shoulder-height is about 3lcm (20in).

COAT
The coat is dense, smooth, and water and dirt-resistant. The permitted colour combinations are liver with white, and black with white, which can include tan markings.

CARE REQUIRED
The coat of the English Springer Spaniel must be brushed regularly. Remove excess hair from the ear passages and also from beneath the ears so that they are adequately ventilated. Do not forget to trim excess hair between the pads of the feet. An English Springer Spaniel needs to visit a dog-trimming parlour about twice to four times each year.

CHARACTER
English Springer Spaniels are gentle, friendly, and sociable dogs that are intelligent and cunning, pliable, obedient, equable, and very active.

TRAINING
The training of this breed is usually trouble-free. They are intelligent and pupils that like to please are eager to learn.

SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Dogs of this breed are renowned for their friendly nature. They live in harmony with other dogs, pets, and children.

EXERCISE
In general terms they adapt effortlessly to the family situation but it is not fair to limit them to three short outings a day. They love to retrieve and swim. Take them for a long walk regularly and let them have a chance to run and play off the lead. They perform very well in both agility skills trials and obedience competitions.
