SIZE
The shoulder-height is 67 - 68cm (27 1/2 - 26 1/2in) for dogs and 61 - 67cm (24 - 27 1/2in) for bitches.

COAT
The coat is long, silk-like, and wavy. English Setters colours are blue belton (white German Pointer (Shorthaired) - German Shorthaired Pointer hes.

This breed is not difficult to train but they do tend to have a mind of their own and this needs to be taken into account. They respond best to a consistent and loving approach. In some cases it is advisable to attend puppy courses with them.

SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
These dogs are naturally happy with other dogs and household animals. Companionship with children will never lead to problems. These dogs are friendly to all people and will greet everyone as a friend.

EXERCISE
The English Setter needs quite a lot of exercise. Take it for regular long walks or let it run alongside a cycle once it is fully grown. They have a tendency to wander and you should make sure you have a good fence.
