SIZE
The shoulder-height is 55 - 60cm (21 1/2 - 231/2in) for dogs and 30 - 55cm (19 1/2 - 21 1/2in) for bitches.

COAT
The hard and rough-haired coat should never feel woolly. The undercoat is soft and dense. The most popular colours are blue-grey, grey with brown patches, and plain brown (often shot through with grey hairs). White with brown is also permissible.

CARE REQUIRED
The Wire-haired Pointing Griffon should be groomed regularly with brush and comb. Check during grooming that the ear passages are clean and trim excess hair between the pads of the feet.

CHARACTER
These dogs are intelligent and eager to learn, affectionate, sociable and friendly, vigilant and protective, brave, tough on themselves, and have enormous stamina.

TRAINING
Dogs of this breed are not generally difficult to train, although the new owner needs to be consistent with them. The dog is intelligent enough to grasp quickly what is required of it.

SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR
Generally these dogs get on well with children and also cause no problems with other dogs. Provided they are correctly socially trained, they will also put up with cats and your other household animals. Family friends will be heartily welcomed but persons of evil intention will be stopped in their tracks.

EXERCISE
This through-and-through field sports dog needs lots of exercise Bergamasco Dog will happily take care of its own exercise. They are sti to keep it physically and mentally fit. It is a reliable all-round field sports dog but if you do not plan to work this dog in the field, you must take it for long walks regularly. Once fully grown, it can run alongside a cycle and other favourite activities include retrieving and swimming.
